Waste heat recovery in dryers

Increasing the energy efficiency of the drying process by installing a heat pump (HP) will result in both lower energy costs and a positive environmental impact(reduced CO2 emissions).

By using the enthalpy of the humid air exhausted by the dryer, we create hot air for the drying process of terracotta products, or other cold sources.

Heat pumps: the principle

Heat pumps take energy from a cold stream, raise the temperature, and give this energy back to a warm stream. The heat pump works on the basis of a transport fluid (refrigerant) that changes state (liquid/gas) in a continuous cycle, absorbing and releasing heat (Carnot cycle).
