Prefaxis, the new fully automated prefabricated wall production unit, was entirely developed and built by Ceratec.
The production unit consists of 2 parts:
1. The machine that builds walls
The walls are built using bricks that have been ground to a high degree of precision.
Construction is carried out using a robot, which first unstacks the bricks and places them on a conveyor belt to form a complete line. Once the line is complete, a layer of glue is applied to the top of the bricks. This process is repeated until a complete wall is erected.
2. The cutting cabin
To guarantee the precision of the finished walls, the excess material is cut away using double water-jet saws. This can be done both along the length of the wall and for openings to accommodate windows or doors.
Ceratec also developed the entire logistics network: logistics between the various production units, as well as logistics management of the buffer zone with a specially adapted truck ready for delivery to the site.
The difficulties of this project:
- Precision that must be guaranteed at all times
- Sizing: every project is different
- Automatic adaptation required for thickness, height and length
Ceratec was able to meet all these requirements, thanks to the development and construction of the production lines by its own departments, and to software specially designed for this project.
