Over the past few months, Siebe Dhaene and Xander Vandeputte have had the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s thesis as part of the electromechanics programme at Ceratec. For six months, they joined the intralogistics engineering team and helped to solve a real-world industrial challenge.
The result is impressive: an innovative pallet lifting and rotation system that automatically lifts pallets and rotates them by 90°.
Thanks to this solution, we can:
- easily handle different types of pallets within the same warehouse;
- organise the logistics flow more efficiently;
- continue to ensure that safety and quality remain our top priorities.
And this isn’t just a concept: we will soon be building and installing 16 units in one of our clients’ automated warehouses.
Under the supervision of Bart Verhaeghe, our Head of Development and Standardisation, they have been able to turn their ideas into a concrete and functional solution.
This project perfectly illustrates Ceratec’s priorities:
- collaboration with schools and talent development
- innovation driven by practical experience
- giving young people the opportunity to flourish
Meet Siebe and Xander, and find out what their work placement with us was like!
