Ceratec commissions its own EV charging station

At our headquarters in Ploegsteert, 16 charging stations have recently been activated, with 32 charging points spread over 3 locations on the site. The necessary groundwork was carried out at the end of last year.

The infrastructure is available not only for Ceratec’s electric vehicles and private staff cars, but also, after extension, for everyone else.

Lead by example

Over the next few years, hundreds of thousands of electric vehicles will be on the road, requiring the construction of the necessary infrastructure, and Ceratec has all the necessary skills.

It was written in the stars that we, as an electrical company, would also install a charging station on our own site.

We already have 8 electric cars on the road. This number will triple this year, and increase tenfold over the next few years. We’re also looking at different options for our (light) vans, and there are now almost 65 of them! That’s not a problem in itself. Because balancing and overload protection allow us to increase the number of charging points.

Intelligent total solution

We chose the Belgian company Smappee as our partner because they offer a total solution. Not only did they supply the 16 semi-public EV-Base charging stations (2 x22 kW), but we also used their charging management platform. This allows us to add priority tariffs and discounts, track charging points in real time, define tariffs for external users, etc.

Self-sufficiency

With dynamic load balancing, we also maximize the use of solar energy to charge electric cars throughout the day.

To achieve this, we use our own 250 kWp photovoltaic system, equivalent to the consumption of over 70 families.

Easy to use

Drivers of electric or hybrid vehicles (EV drivers) simply need to install and register the Smappee application. After registration, you can start a charging session by scanning the QR code with the app.
