Optimization of the logistics flow through a fully automated warehouse for cartons and pallets.
Covivins is a leading logistics service provider for alcoholic beverages. All their clients benefit from a comprehensive service that includes ordering, storage, and delivery of these products.
As part of expanding their service capacity, it became necessary to increase the efficiency of internal logistics processes. Covivins enlisted Ceratec to build two fully automated high-bay warehouses, one for pallets and the other for cartons, in order to continue growing in the future.
RECEIPT
Buffer zone and product identification
Entry via roller conveyors and turntables to the shuttle loop for pallets, which:
either inserts the pallets into the high-bay warehouse (3 MIAS cranes with satellite)
or places them in the preparation area for carton storage.
PREPARATION/PICKING
The pallets are unloaded by robot and celluveyor, or manually unloaded at the picking stations.
Then, the cartons are labeled and sent to the carton warehouse (6 TGW Twister cranes).
Kardex for the storage of special items.
SHIPPING
The cartons are brought on demand to the picking tables via lift, where mixed pallets are prepared.
These are then sent via the shuttle loop to a wrapping machine, and either returned to the pallet warehouse or sent for transport.
Ceratec also handled all installation techniques (high-voltage cabinets, wiring, security, fire detection, access control, etc.).
