Ibstock Brick SM3: Leicester (UK)
Ibstock Brick is the largest producer of bricks and other innovative products in the United Kingdom. By setting up an new factory at its Leicestershire headquarters Ibstock Brick has increased capacity with 100M BSE.
Ceratec supplied the turn key clay preparation line, which consists of a clay-reception unit, clay preparation unit, clay storage and post-storage mixing line.
The clay reception unit is set up next to the open-air clay storage area and is equipped with 4 dosage bunkers and a roller crusher. The clay is efficiently processed in the central clay preparation unit before being stored in the souring house. The clay preparation unit is equipped with a Händle HMSI 2180c pan mill and two Händle WF10150e roller mills. Afterwards the processed clay is stored in one of 5 silos. A movable conveyor belt spreads the clay evenly into the silos.
After souring, the prepared clay is picked up from the storage silos by a loading shovel and placed into the box feeders of the mixing line. This line is equipped with an open doubleshaft mixer, which mixes the clay with water and other additives. The blend is then transferred to the soft mud press.
This new factory assures Ibstocks leading position in terms of quality, continuous innovation and product development.
