New high-bay warehouse
New high-bay warehouse
The cheese factory in Moorslede is investing in doubling its production capacity. A phased project will see current cheese production initially increase from 9 000 tonnes to 15 000 tonnes with the final target being 25 000 tonnes.
The first phase of the project will increase the capacity of the ripening room and although this will more than double, Belgomilk Moorslede also wanted the room to be more compact.
Ceratec proposed an automatic high-bay warehouse, which automates cheese input and output to and from the processing lines with a carousel.
The automatic four-door warehouse was supplied by Schäfer but installed and programmed by Ceratec. Belgomilk wanted to avoid a roller conveyor system or chain conveyor for transport between the entire warehouse (with 4 I/O cranes) and the processing lines, so we opted for a 140 metre long carousel. This loop runs past all the crane I/O positions and the various processing lines. This unique loop concept means that the high capacity of 75 boxes in and 75 boxes out from the warehouse may be effectively achieved.
