Digitalization has a huge impact on the business world. This is why Siemens entered into a structural cooperation in 2019 to bring engineering education and the field closer together.

The Siemens Industry Academy (SIA) introduces engineering students to automation and digitization of industry in practice, through internships, master's theses or company visits.

From our passion for technology and innovation, we are happy to support such initiatives. In this way Ceratec helps to build the technical talent of tomorrow! We have therefore been a proud partner of SIA from the very beginning.

During the celebration of their 5th anniversary, we also reflected on the War for Talent and the challenges surrounding the training of engineers.

Some take-aways:

• Learned young is done old
  The earlier we excite young people for STEM education, the better. Today, we are mainly focusing on the third grade of secondary education - e.g., by organizing workshops for secondary school teachers so that they can teach students about the latest new technologies - but we actually need to take action much earlier.
• Lifelong learning is critical
  Engineers are problem solvers. Lifelong learning is essential to keep up with the solutions.
• Tomorrow's engineer is more than a crack at technology.
  Communication is an essential part of a well-run organization. Technical profiles like engineers are also hybrid team players, and must have the necessary soft skills.

Together we continue to strive for more influx and better outflow of (technical) talent!
