At Vandersanden in Spouwen-Bilzen (Belgium), we have installed an advanced automatic reconditioning line.
This begins with the automatic supply of complete packs of facing bricks, which are distributed on half-pallets (or quarter-pallets). Four robots unload and reload the bricks onto the half-pallets, while a fifth robot moves the half-pallets. After restacking, the pallets are individually covered and strapped together horizontally. They are then transported in pairs, fours or as slave pallets to another factory hall (S5). Here, all pallets (full, half and quarter pallets) are moved and evacuated by shuttle. The slave pallets are stacked and returned to the other side of the factory.
With an output of 40 pallets per hour in the reconditioning line and up to 100 pallets per hour in S5, this installation offers a significant improvement in Vandersanden’s logistics flow.
